At the level of Latin America and the Caribbean, the use of new methodologies in construction is a trend, companies between 5 and more than 10 years of implementation are 33.2%, obtaining the highest number of companies with the use of these methodologies. Later we have with 66.8% companies with less than 5 years of implementation. This according to a survey carried out in the year 2,020 to construction companies according to IDB (Inter-American Development Bank).
Guatemala is one of the countries in Central America to adopt BIM methods in Building projects. Implementation companies with more than 5 years are only 22.2%, 25.9% correspond to companies with 3 and 4 years of implementation, and 51.9% of companies with less than 2 years of implementation. This according to a survey carried out in the year 2,020 to construction companies according to IDB (Inter-American Development Bank).
Guatemala is the fourth country in Latin America to use internal standards for Building and Infrastructure projects, with 59.3% of companies handling information with their own terms and codes, only 22.2% of companies are based on a standard for the project creation (ISO 19,650), and 18.5% do not use any standard. This according to a survey carried out in the year 2,020 to construction companies according to IDB (Inter-American Development Bank).
This graph shows that in Guatemala the implementation of BIM is taking place internally and sometimes self-taught, a good percentage implements it through a software vendor. 39.2% do so with a BIM training academy and the percentage that decides to take the leap without strategy or mentoring is almost nil, which is undoubtedly a good index and indicates that we are doing well.
